Help us to overcome post-traumatic syndrome in Ukraine.
PTSD – is the war pandemic
AND WHO, IF NOT A MODERN PEOPLE, KNOWS WHAT IS THE LOUDEST TRAGEDY THAT PTSD LED TO? AFTER RETURNING FROM VIETNAM, THE NUMBER OF AMERICAN SOLDIERS WHO COMMITTED SUICIDE IN THE NEXT FEW YEARS WAS EQUAL TO THE NUMBER OF SOLDIERS WHO DIED IN VIETNAM.
Consequences PTSD
AGRESSIVNESS
ADDICTIONS,
SUICIDAL BEHAVIOR
PANIC ATTACKS
GENERALIZED ANXIETY DISORDER
DEPRESSION
How big problem is?
IN UKRAINE, POTENTIALLY, AS THE INTERNATIONAL RESEARCH GROUP NOTES IN ITS ARTICLE, 25.9% OF THOSE SURVEYED MAY HAVE "PROBABLE PTSD."
This means that each of the four people in Ukraine may be suffering from PTSD.
In the United Kingdom, approximately 3.7% of men and 5.1% of women are potentially vulnerable to PTSD.
UNFORTUNATELY, UKRAINE OCCUPIES ONE OF THE FIRST PLACES IN EUROPE IN TERMS OF UNDERFUNDING THE FIELD OF MENTAL HEALTH, ATTRACTING ONLY 3% OF THE COUNTRY'S HEALTH BUDGET COMPARED TO 13% IN THE UK AND 18% IN DENMARK.
THE WAR ALSO DEALT A HEAVY BLOW TO THE MENTAL STATE OF CHILDREN. ACCORDING TO UNICEF, 1.5 MILLION CHILDREN ARE AT RISK OF DEPRESSION, ANXIETY, POST-TRAUMATIC STRESS DISORDER AND OTHER MENTAL HEALTH PROBLEMS WITH POTENTIAL LONG-TERM CONSEQUENCES AND MANIFASTATIONS.
